That's where we do our best work. Plenty of people come to us knowing something's wrong but not what to build. We diagnose what's worth building first, then build it — you don't need a spec to start a conversation.
What does the first call actually look like?
A short, no-pressure conversation — you tell us what you're working on or stuck on, and we tell you honestly whether and how we can help. No pitch, no obligation. If it's a fit, we take it from there.
Have you actually shipped to production, or is this all demos?
Every capability here, our team has shipped to production across our careers — not slideware. As BuildPath delivers its own client work, those results get added here too.
What will it cost?
It depends on the scope, so we don't put a number on the site that would be wrong for you. After a short call we send a written proposal within a couple of working days — clear, fixed scope and price, no open-ended billing.
How fast can we actually ship?
A first working build in weeks, not quarters. We work in weekly demos, so you see real progress every week — not a status deck and a date that keeps slipping.
Who owns what we build?
The code and IP are yours — source transferred to you, no lock-in on the work itself. How hosting, accounts, and ongoing running costs are handled depends on the engagement; we make all of that clear and in writing before we start, so there are no surprises.
Isn't AI expensive and unreliable?
It is — when it's built badly. Most "AI doesn't work" stories are a building problem, not an AI problem: agents that dazzle in a demo and burn tokens in production. We design for cost control and reliability from day one, so what you ship pays for itself instead of draining budget.
What if AI isn't the right answer for us?
Then we'll tell you — on the first call, before you spend anything. AI is powerful, not magic; a good partner tells you what it can't do, not just what it can.
Is our idea and data safe with you?
Yes. Anything you share stays confidential, and we design for your data-control needs — access controls, and self-hosting where it matters. We're glad to sign an NDA before you tell us anything sensitive.
We already have a developer or CTO. Do we still need you?
Often we work alongside an existing team — a second opinion on a hard call, or extra senior hands for a build they can't staff right now. We complement your team, we don't replace it.
Do you work with our existing tools and stack?
Usually, yes. We build on a modern, flexible stack and integrate with what you already run — we'll flag it early if something's a poor fit.
What happens after it's live — do you disappear?
No. We stay to measure, tune, and expand it. A launch is the start of the useful part, not the end of the engagement.
What if we're not happy partway through?
You'll never be surprised — weekly demos mean you see the work as it happens and can course-correct early. We scope in stages, so you're never locked into a big bet before you've seen us deliver.
How much of our time will this take?
Less than you'd expect. We need you for the important decisions — scoping, weekly demo reviews, and sign-offs — and we handle the rest. You stay in the loop without it becoming a second job.
